NEW DELHI: Leader of the opposition in Delhi assembly, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, on Friday inaugurated a self-defense training camp for girls in Badarpur assembly constituency and announced that every ward in his constituency will have a self-defense training camp to impart training to young girls.
“Self-defense training should become one of the most integral parts of the society and imparting such training should become the focus of upbringing of the girl child,” Bidhuri said after opening the first centre at Mithapur ward.
In the Mithapur camp 100 young girls were given training between August 16 to 27 in association with
Delhi Police. In the Friday function the trained girls were also given certificates by the Delhi Police.
Bidhuri said it was not possible to deploy police in every local area and therefore it was important to impart self-defense training to make the girls strong and confident.
